about me
aisling
This is where I try to introduce myself to you... Where do I begin?
Hi, my name is Aisling, as stated above, I live in Donegal, Ireland. I live in the Gaeltacht of Gaoth Dobhair (Gweedore) in North West Donegal and I am bi-lingual (Gaeilge/Irish and English), I have had a varied life, so far, with training and education being an ongoing 'thing or theme' in my life. Education wise, my various diplomas and certs have been from my early 20's onwards, my BA came in my late 40's early 50's, my introduction to coding came in my late 50's, and right now, well, I'm not done yet.
I've been a secretary - corporate/financial law, corporate 'executive assistant'; Irish language assistant; summer camp leader; and back to secretary and carer, as well as going back to school, as a language assistant.
I have created and developed an App, CanCare Buddy, which can be found on the google play store - please take a look, but only if you have an Android Phone. I have not branched out into the iPhone range, yet..
Why the title - Aisling Stuff That Matters? Well, if not that, what? If it doesn't matter, then why do anything about it, it doesn't matter. So on to the Stuff that Matters: life, love, children, pets and everything in-between.
Life, well, everyone loves life, at one stage or another, we have an ongoing love affair with life. There are people that just live for today, but sure isn't that part of life. Life is happening all around us, all of the time and we do sometimes take it for granted, but for the most part, we are in the moment. We laugh, we cry, we giggle and sometimes we scream. That's what life is all about really, right!
Love, we all love at one time or another and if one is really lucky, you get to spend a bit of time with 'your other half'. Not all of us are made like that, I for one, do like my own company. I am a social person, but I do like my quiet moments/ times, just me and my furbies, with my son in the other room working away on his own projects or being at the other end of the phone for a chat; I love watching videos, listening to music, playing games - board games, as well as computer/console games, reading and the list goes on and evolves to my current tastes and interests. That is not a bad way to live.
Children, well I do love children, they see the world is such an amazing way. You can learn a lot about the world around you and yourself, through the eyes of children. They are brutally honest and one of the best sounds in this world, is that of children laughing, it is infectious and will always put a smile on people's faces. Also, as a mother, i am not ashamed to say that without my son, my life would be so very different, he is what I am most proud of in my life, best day ever was when I heard his heartbeat for the first time, second best was when I held him for the first time, then things only got better. Children are not for everyone but everyone has had interactions with children.
Pets, most of us have had them at one time or another, like children, they are not for everyone. They become our family, so very quickly. And they give us their unconditional love and loyalty, without them, we are less, without knowing it.. Again, they are not for everyone. I have had dogs and cats all throughout my life. They ask for little but give so much in return, they are family.
Everything in-between, work, appointments, shopping, cooking, caring, etc. Well that is the way of it, we live, love, laugh and we are the better for it.
And, lastly, why my life, my way? Well if my life isn't my way, then it's someone else's, and where's the fun in that..
Thank you for taking the time to look at this site.
